Catalyst Cloud has announced the beta launch of the Load Balancer service, making it easy to scale out and achieve better fault tolerance for cloud-based applications.
This fully managed and highly available service can operate as a Layer 7 application load balancer or a Layer 4 network load balancer. Some of its features include health monitoring, connection draining, and choice of multiple algorithms.
"In line with our principles, this is a software-defined load balancer with an open API and backed by open source software," says Fei Long Wang, head of R&D at Catalyst Cloud.
Load balancer is now available in the Hamilton region of the cloud for $0.034 per hour (or $24.62 per month). It will soon be released to the Porirua and Wellington regions.
