Catalyst Joins the OpenStack Foundation
7 August, 2012
Catalyst has joined the OpenStack Foundation as a participating company.
Catalyst recognises the importance and rapidly rising demand for cloud services. By joining the OpenStack Foundation, Catalyst aims to provide local and overseas businesses the ability to use cloud services without expensive licensing costs or the risk of vendor lock-in.
Catalyst's developers have extensive and proven experience with the hardware, networking and software requirements for building large scale applications, and have chosen OpenStack as a foundation to translate these skills to the provision of cloud services to our clients.
Currently in development, Catalyst's cloud project aims to build a cloud service as an option for clients, and to support the skills and experience required to provide consulting and implementation to enable clients to deploy their own private clouds.
OpenStack is an open source project which supports the development of cloud services. The project was originally created by NASA and Rackspace to develop a massively scalable cloud operating system and now has a growing user community of over 180 companies and 3000 individuals supporting its development and deployment.
