Who has legal jurisdiction over cloud data? As cloud providers ourselves, we've been watching this issue with interest over the last couple of years.
Under US law, the US Government can require individuals and organisations to provide it with data they own or can access. This means that even if you are using a local datacentre, if the parent company which owns the datacentre is US-based, the US government may gain access to your data by court order.
