We provide discounts to customers who consume large volumes of our cloud services or who commit to using those services for a fixed term. Our discounts apply to all of our cloud services, allowing you to save money and to change your workloads over time (for example, by increasing storage usage and reducing compute usage).
We calculate your discount by aggregating the undiscounted monthly usage of all projects owned by you as if they were a single project (your “Monthly Usage”).
Please note that discounts do not apply to services provided by third parties, such as Windows images, or to professional services provided by Catalyst Cloud.
Volume discount
Volume discounts give you access to lower prices when you use our services more. They automatically kick in based on your Monthly Usage. The volume discount is proportional to your Monthly Usage, as set out in the volume discount table below (“Volume Discount Table”):
Monthly usage | Discount |
---|---|
$0 - $4,999 | 0% |
$5,000 - $9,999 | 3% |
$10,000 - $19,999 | 5% |
$20,000 - $49,999 | 7% |
$50,000 - $99,999 | 10% |
$100,000+ | Talk to us |
The following conditions apply to volume discounts:
- The volume discount percentage will be selected from the Volume Discount Table according to your Monthly Usage.
- If the volume discount percentage is greater than zero, the volume discount amount applied to your invoice will be the Monthly Usage times the volume discount percentage (“Volume Discount Amount”).
- Volume discounts do not apply to surcharges or to the use of third party services, such as Windows images.
Examples of how volume discounts are calculated:
- A customer uses $3,000 of cloud services in a given month. Because the Monthly Usage is less than $4,999, the customer does not qualify for a volume discount. Catalyst invoices the customer the Monthly Usage of $3,000.
- A customer uses $10,000 of cloud services in a given month. The Monthly Usage qualifies for a 5% volume discount ($500). Catalyst invoices the customer the Monthly Usage ($10,000) minus the Volume Discount Amount ($500), for a total of $9,500.
Term discount
Term discounts are available when you commit to a pre-discount dollar usage per month for a fixed term. The discount percentage (“Term Discount Percentage”) is defined according to the length of the term selected, as set out in the term discount table below (“Term Discount Table”):
Term | Discount |
---|---|
6 months | 6% |
12 months | 8% |
18 months | 10% |
24 months | 13% |
30 months | 16% |
36 months | 20% |
Please create a support request or contact your account manager to request a term discount. By requesting a term discount, you agree to the following conditions:
- You are responsible for defining the usage you will commit to per month (“Committed Usage”), the length of the term that you commit to (“Committed Term”) and the project to which you would like the discount applied.
- The term discount amount you may receive from Catalyst is the Committed Usage multiplied by the Term Discount Percentage (“Term Discount Amount”). For clarity, the discount amount only applies to the Committed Usage, and not to any usage above that.
- The committed minimum expenditure you agree to pay per month for the duration of the Committed Term is equal to the Committed Usage minus the Term Discount Amount (“Committed Minimum Expenditure”).
- If your Monthly Usage is less than the Committed Usage, then the amount invoiced by Catalyst will be the Committed Minimum Expenditure.
- If your Monthly Usage is equal to or greater than the Committed Usage, then the amount invoiced by Catalyst will be the Monthly Usage minus the Term Discount Amount.
- The duration of the Committed Term must match one of the durations listed in the Term Discount Table. The Committed Term must begin on the first day of a calendar month and end on the last day of a calendar month.
- You may increase the Committed Usage during the Committed Term without affecting or re-starting the Committed Term. A request to increase the Committed Usage will take effect from the beginning of the month following the month in which the request was received.
- You may not decrease the Committed Usage during the Committed Term.
- You may request multiple term discounts for the same account, each with its own Committed Usage and Committed Term. When you have multiple term discounts effective at the same time, the sum of their Committed Usage and Term Discount Amount applies.
- If you decide to terminate your account during the Committed Term, you must immediately pay the sum of the remaining Committed Minimum Expenditure per month until the end of the Committed Term.
- Term discounts do not apply to surcharges or to the use of third party services, such as Windows images.
Examples of how term discounts are calculated:
- A customer commits to usage of $1,000 per month for 36 months. The customer uses $3,000 of cloud services in a given month during the Committed Term. Because the Monthly Usage ($3,000) is greater than the Committed Usage ($1,000), Catalyst invoices the customer the Monthly Usage ($3,000) minus the Term Discount Amount ($200), for a total of $2,800.
- A customer commits to usage of $1,000 per month for 36 months. The customer uses $1,000 of cloud services in a given month during the Committed Term. Because the Monthly Usage ($1,000) is equal to the Committed Usage ($1,000), Catalyst invoices the Monthly Usage ($1,000) minus the Term Discount Amount ($200), for a total of $800.
- A customer commits to usage of $1,000 per month for 36 months. The customer uses $900 of cloud services in a given month during the Committed Term. Because the Monthly Usage ($900) is less than the Committed Usage ($1,000), but greater than the Committed Minimum Expenditure, Catalyst applies a partial discount of Monthly Usage ($900) minus the Committed Minimum Expenditure ($800) or $100, and invoices the customer the Committed Minimum Expenditure of $800.
- A customer commits to usage of $1,000 per month for 36 months. The customer uses $700 of cloud services in a given month during the Committed Term. Because the Monthly Usage ($700) is less than the Committed Minimum Expenditure ($800), Catalyst invoices the customer the Committed Minimum Expenditure of $800.
